ARQ Y FILOSOFIA #24- LA BAUHAUS

The revolution will be in schools! - The avant-garde and experimental movements of the early 20th century found their point of convergence at the Bauhaus, the school of arts and crafts founded by Walter Gropius in Weimar, Germany in 1919. It was an unrepeatable, turbulent, and unique movement until its closure in 1933 in Berlin, when it was directed by Mies van der Rohe. Of an anti-academic nature, the Bauhaus represented a testing ground, a laboratory for the forms that would define the first half of the 20th century. Its influence and legendary status are more than enough reason for the Architecture and Philosophy podcast to undertake a re-examination of it this Friday, October 8th.
