QU’EST-CE QU’UN BONSAÏ (petite histoire, styles et création)

For the first issue of the new "The Magic of Bonsai" column, brought to you exclusively by NewsJardinTV, our two Bordeaux bonsai experts, Fabrice and Alexis, start at the beginning... They recall the meaning of the word bonsai and its historical evolution, with its Chinese origins and its "sacralization" due to the Japanese. Our two experts also briefly discuss the specific shapes and styles of bonsai, which are inspired by nature. They then present some examples of bonsai grown from seeds, cuttings, purchased in supermarkets, and even collected in the wild (with permission, of course!). In a friendly and relaxed conversation, Fabrice and Alexis also present an exceptional specimen from Japan, as well as trees of different ages and cultivation levels, which clearly and exemplarily demonstrates the pleasure one can have in slowly but surely shaping a small potted tree to express the very essence of its personality. A simple introductory video that inspires you to try this technique, which allows for a unique connection with the plant world and, with patience, provides great satisfaction. Also follow our two experts on their YouTube channels; Fabrice on "Nejikan bonsaï" and Alexis on "Alexis fait des bonsaïs"...
