In this video, we will study the superposition theorem, which is extremely useful for circuit analysis. The theorems we will study apply to both alternating current and direct current circuits. The superposition theorem is used so frequently, and is so natural, that sometimes we don't even realize we are using it. Applications of the superposition theorem: Analyzing circuits that have two or more sources of current, voltage, or both; Analyzing the effect of each source in a given circuit; Analyzing circuits that have DC and AC sources, making it possible to verify the individual effect of each source or even the effect of all sources by simply adding the individual results algebraically. This is fundamental content for the analysis of electrical circuits for those who intend to pursue a career in the technical field. Furthermore, this is a requirement in technical courses in electrotechnics and electromechanics, electronics courses, electrical engineering, industrial automation technology programs, and for professional electricians.
