The Oakland Roots Soccer Club is entering into its final stretch of games with the Oakland Coliseum as its home venue. On Thursday, the team announced that it will not return to the venue for the 2027 USL Championship season. The club, which is still in the process of securing a venue for next season, said it “looks forward to celebrating its final season at the historic Oakland venue.” The team moved into the Coliseum ahead of the start of the 2025 season, following two seasons playing on the campus of California State University East Bay. The team said it would be relocating next season as the Coliseum was no longer viable.
