Epidendrum Care Guide

Epidendrums are native to the tropics and subtropical regions of the American continents, from North Carolina to Argentina. Their habitat can be epiphytic, terrestrial or even lithophytic. Many are grown in the Andes, at altitudes between 1,000 and 3,000 meters. Their habitats include humid jungles, dry tropical forests, sunny grassy slopes, cool cloud forests, and shady barrier islands. Members of this genus can be aggressive colonizers of disturbed habitat, and many species which were once rare in this genus have become more common as the result of human activities. Growing Requirements for some epidendrums: 1. Light - likes bright, but no direct sunlight. 2. Temperature - prefers daytime temperatures around 65 degrees Fahrenheit . 3. Water - This orchid should not be overwatered. It is sufficient to water it once every seven to nine days.
