Thank you Lord (that you ever thought of me) - Andre Steele

This wonderful gospel chorus is one of the earliest songs that I remember being taught by my beautiful mother. I don’t know who wrote it but I do know that It still brings me great joy, although I’ve not heard it sung anywhere in many years. It has been on my mind to record it for a few months and I’m glad that at last I have done so. It’s one of those songs that I sometimes wake up singing and it’s one that will always be dear to me, for the memories that it evokes of home and of church, many years back, when we would sing chorus after chorus and worship the Lord with all our hearts, with all of our souls and with all of our might. Today, if you will, why don’t you enter into God‘s presence with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise. Let’s go together, just as we are, to our God, telling him all that he is to us and of all of our need for Him. He knows exactly who we are and he is ready to meet us now, If we would give our hearts to him and worship him in spirit and in truth. There are no surprises for him in our hearts: the truth of who we are and the truth of our need for him is the truth that God requires of us. All He wants is access to our hearts through our bearing our souls to him, without pretext or ego. We let go of status, reputation, age, gender, nationality, education, wealth, experience etc. and just gather ourselves to him, like chicks to a mother hen. In his presence there is fullness of joy and at his right hand there are pleasures forever more - another that I must record soon…
