We bought a 1989 Bayliner 3888 MV - what have we done? Let the projects begin and how to buy a boat!

Full tour of the 1989 Bayliner 3888 MV. Back in March 2021, we went to look at a 1989 Bayliner 3888 MV on a whim and ended up buying her! Follow along as we go through the boat buying process. The list of projects is long. We're just getting started on the renovation and we are excited for the outings that are in our future! But first, there's a lot of work that has to be done. In the first couple of weeks we have done the following: -Repaired the electric heaters -Replaced the master stateroom mattress https://amzn.to/35Qb4vw -Replaced the zincs -Cleaned and zinc painted the trim tabs, propellers (to protect from growth) -Touched up the bottom paint -Buffed and waxed the lower half of the boat -Installed a swim ladder https://amzn.to/3jhIsyE -Installed new engine and house batteries -Routine engine maintenance -Rewired the bilge pump -Installed new bilge pumps https://amzn.to/3xddr6V Mike is a talented mechanic and handyman. He is able to do so many of these projects that it saves us a ton of money. Boat parts are not cheap and we still spent over $1,500 in the first couple weeks of boat ownership. Full disclosure, we got a good deal on the boat. We paid $35,556. Listings in the spring had been running between $30k and $60k, so we feel like we paid a fair price. We financed it by taking out a home equity line of credit (HELOC). We were able to pay half of it off when we sold the other boat.
