Ridges and valleys filled with houses / Walk around the residential area, Yokohama Miyagaya Sengendai (Kanagawa Prefecture) We walked through Miyagaya, Asamadai, and Miyatacho, where a tributary of the Katabira River cuts the Shimosueyoshi Plateau into small pieces. As shown in the thumbnail image, which makes you think, "Wow, they've built houses here," detached houses and apartment complexes cover the rugged land beautifully and evenly. It's amazing to think that most of them were built in about 40 years, from the high economic growth period after the war to the bubble period in the Showa era. The last place we visited was the old cafe district called Yokohama Shintenchi, located near the Kofukuji Matsubara Shopping Street on the old Tokaido Road. Although there are a few buildings that retain the former appearance, the Inari shrine's Tamagaki fence with the name of the "Shintenchi Cafe Association" engraved on it definitely conveyed the memory of the town, but it has already disappeared (it was there in 2008).
