EMSL LEARN Webinar: Intro to Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)

This EMSL LEARN webinar introduces retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), an emerging design pattern of large language model (LLM)-based development that has shown to improve accuracy and address key challenges of hallucination, provenance, and knowledge updates in AI. Speaker Sumit Purohit, a data scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), will discuss motivation, key components, software stack, and evaluation metrics. He will also introduce PNNL-developed agentic capabilities to explore as part of future EMSL LEARN webinars. Gain key knowledge about: How different science and technology domains leverage summarization, reasoning, and conversation capabilities of LLMs while addressing accuracy and precision challenges How scientists can set up their personal assistant using relevant papers and documents For more information about EMSL and how to access its capabilities and resources, visit https://www.emsl.pnnl.gov.
