What a wild leg of the journey! After leaving the Mauritania border late to avoid the scorching daytime heat, I found myself in a massive dilemma. First, I ran into unexpected currency issues at the petrol pumps—my CFA francs weren't accepted, and they only wanted ouguiya. After sorting that out, the next station was completely out of petrol in the town and I'm not sure where and when I'm going to see where to buy!
