Big Ole Trash Party 2 0

On April 25, more than 120 volunteers joined us across five starting locations for our Big Ole Trash Party 2.0, our second-ever big neighborhood trash party. Together, we collected 193 bags of trash, a visible reminder of what happens when neighbors show up together. From there, the celebration continued at Black Hart of Saint Paul, where the Brass Messengers played to a full house. People stuck around to dance, make art, and spend time together. We talked to neighbors as they joyfully worked to make the Hamline Midway cleaner and more beautiful, and heard from them why it’s important to show up for our community and one another. We’re grateful to our friends at Union Park District Council, the Midway Chamber of Commerce, the Snelling & University Alliance and M Health Fairview’s Midway Clinic for your help putting this together, and to Black Hart for hosting the after-party. And most of all, we’re grateful to our neighbors for continuing to show up and chip in. There are more opportunities to volunteer and connect coming up, including our next neighborhood trash pickup on July 25. Stay tuned for that!
