Workshop Topics - Part #7 - Rounding The Ends Of The Connection Rod - but first, here is a serious Health & Safety Warning - Caution - In this video I show a process which can be very dangerous. P.P.E. (personal protective equipment) must be worn. I cannot be held responsible in any way for personal injuries caused by attempting to do what you see in the video. This video contains my opinions and my usual method for doing this job and the video is intended as a guide only. The use of a Rotary Table would be a better option, but as many people do not have such a device in their home workshop, I am therefore showing this method. I show in detail how I successfully round the ends of coupling rods and connecting rods. In this video I show the rounding of the ends of a very small connecting rod for a Bassett-Lowke "Tangye" model steam engine. Great care needs to be taken when doing this.
