Freezing in SoCal: Borrego Springs Brevet, from Beaches to the Desert

#randonneuring #borregosprings #brevet After lots of riding in NorCal, I decided to go south to explore new routes! Today we are riding the Borrego Springs 600km, organized by the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) randonneurs in SoCal. The route went through so many different landscapes: suburbs, beaches, river trails, deserts, and farms. It was a great way to explore all the things that SoCal had to offer, all packed into a beautiful 600km brevet. The really surprising thing about the route are the bike paths: I would estimate more than 100 miles of this ride are on separate paths! River trails, beach paths .. it was so good to be away from cars for so long. I didn't know SoCal had so many of them.
