Review: Leif Ove Andsnes' Very Impressive Warner Recordings
This very fine 36-Disc set from Warner highlights an ironic fact. Leif Ove Andsnes is one of the great pianists working today. He recorded an impressive body of work for Virgin/EMI (now Warner), then they dropped him (or lost him to Sony) or both, and now they issue this box telling us how wonderful he is (or was). So why doesn't he still make records for them if he's that good? Such are the ways of the classical music recording world.
