Kinky Friedman on being Kinky.mov
Kinky Friedman was one of my favorite candidates to ever seek public office when he ran for governor of Texas in 2006. His political philosophy was shaped from during his years as a country singer-songwriter and as a novelist. This is a story I did with Kinky on his family ranch outside Kerrville, Texas in the late 80's. It shows the personality and humor that won him a lot of press coverage as a candidate. Those same traits are also the reason he didn't win enough votes to get elected.
