Steady clock to shuffling gates (short demo, no talking) [NLC Eurorack] (May 28, 2026) {Zoom Q8}
Short demonstration system patching a chaos-infused gate & CV modulation network from a steady master clock on a Nonlinearcircuits Eurorack Audio recorded in a single take, with no overdubs on Zoom Q8 at 24 bit / 48kHz, and imported into Reaper for basic dynamics processing only. No effects applied during or post-recording. The inset of the zoomed in oscilloscope was captured with a Samsung phone. Video was imported into DaVinci Resolve for editing. 0:10 - Poultry in Motion (PiM) is the clock source 0:14 - PiM /512 output is patched to Stochaos input 0:21 - Stochaos #1 output is patched to Statues signal input 0:29 - Yellow trace: Statues #1 output is patched through Mults to both Let's Bronze Up (LBU) Heads (top) input and 1050 Seq clock input 0:42 - LBU Heads bipolar output is patched to Sly Grogan gate input 0:46 - Green trace: from Sly Grogan Out 1 output to FM Op VCA input 0:56 - Red trace: Statues output #3 is patched to LBU Knees (3rd down) input 1:00 - LBU Knees bipolar output is patched to Sly Grogan CV Damp input 1:10 - Additional notes This is a common starting point for me: the network of Poultry in Motion (PiM), Stochaos, Statues, Hyperchaos Deluxe (HyDe), Let's Bronze Up (LBU), Frisson, then on to envelopes, VCAs and modulation, etc. — taking a steady master clock and using it to tie events in different modules together in a broadly consistent network of temporal relationships, while at the same time loosening the rigidity of the "grid" it imposes and resulting in a more organic, shambling pace. The master clock rate varies in a feeback loop with Stochaos. Additional patch notes: Stochaos #6 gate output is patched back to PiM Rate CV input in order to add variability to the clock rate. Statues #8 gate output is patched to PiM #1 Delay input. PiM Delay output is patched to Hyperchaos Deluxe (HyDe) Climax CV input. PiM /128 is patched to HyDe Rate input. HyDe SGN(Y) output is patched to Frisson signal input. HyDe W output is patched to Frisson CV input. HyDe SGN(X) output is patched to Statues x00 input. Stochaos #4 CV output is patched to Statues 0x0 input. Frisson #1 output is patched to Statues 00x input. Statues #6 output is patched to 1050 sequencer reset input to increase variability in the sequence. 1050 sequencer 1-8 output is patched to FM Op pitch CV input, feeding the sequence to the oscillator and adding a bit of variety in the audio. 1050 sequencer DIFF output is patched to GENiE #3 input, which serves simply as an attenuator. GENiE #3 output is in turn patched to FM Op FM input. Sly Grogan is self-patched. The fourth and shortest envelope is patched back to the module's Trigger input in order to periodically stimulate a resonant transient to the first output.
