Gretsch Streamliner Jet Bass Review: Is it Better Than the G2220?

Looking for a Gretsch Streamliner Jet Bass review? In this video, I do a deep dive into the new Gretsch short scale model to see if it’s a true improvement over the G2220. We look at the new nato body, the move to volume/volume/tone controls, and some surprising construction issues like neck pocket gaps and misaligned tuners. We will discuss the current specs and how they are different compared to the Gretsch G2220 short scale bass. I will then demonstrate some of the available sounds and also provide a playing example along to a drum track. In my assessment, I will highlight good things and areas for improvement in terms of construction, fit & finish, hardware, electronics and playing comfort. The bass was recorded direct through a Line6 Pod Go with my usual GK800RB model settings. Stock Fender nickel roundwound strings. 00:00 Intro 01:06 Specs & Differences from G2220 03:42 Sounds 09:42 Comparison track 12:06 Construction, Fit & Finish 17:26 Hardward 19:09 Pickups & Electronics 23:16 Balance & Neck dive 24:11 Playing comfort 26:21 Summary https://jonathanwong.bandcamp.com
