Born on November 20, 1958, in Lomé, Tavio Amorin is a brilliant intellectual, educated in France, with degrees in science and industrial computing from the University of Orsay. He works for Matra, a prestigious French aeronautics company, but his heart is set on Africa. A staunch Pan-Africanist, he reads and draws inspiration from Kwame Nkrumah, Marcus Garvey, and Cheikh Anta Diop. Activist in several Pan-African movements in France, he strongly denounces French neocolonialism and Françafrique, which keep African countries under control. For him, overthrowing a dictator is not enough: "We must destroy the neocolonial system that puts him in power and allows him to stay there forever."
