The latest swing system for the Viking ride at Dream World amusement park in Pathum Thani. Previously, this ride used hydraulic booster wheels with a total of 2 wheels, each rotating in opposite directions. When the ship needed to swing in a certain direction, the wheel on that side would lift to contact the underside of the ship. When the ship swung back, the wheel that had just swung the ship would fold down to allow the ship to pass, and the opposite wheel would lift to contact the ship and continue the swing. The ship would be swung higher and higher due to the resonance phenomenon and the speed of the booster wheels. Now, Dream World amusement park has replaced the old hydraulic drive system with an electric motor system ordered from HUSS, the ride manufacturer. This system uses only one booster wheel that can rotate in both directions, constantly contacting the underside of the ship. Unlike the hydraulic system that could lift and retract the wheels, this continuous contact with the booster wheel makes the initial swing less natural. It starts to feel more natural once the ship swings past the wheel. The electric motor-powered wheel delivers very high power. During the initial swings, the ship is rapidly accelerated every time it passes the wheel, reaching a maximum angle of 75 degrees within 10 swings (compared to 15 swings with the hydraulic system). However, with the new control program, the ride time has been reduced from 4 minutes to 3 minutes, resulting in only 6 airtime moments at the peak swings (compared to 10 times with the old system). Although there are fewer airtime moments, the intensity and enjoyment remain the same.
