Swift water rescue in Tulsa, OK

Editorial from Tulsa FD -- Swiftwater Rescue at Villas at Midtown: Around 11:30 a.m., Tulsa Fire Department crews responded to the Villas at Midtown apartments after reports of a man trapped in a flood control ditch. The man was clinging to a pillar as fast-moving storm water rushed around him. Engine 14 arrived first and quickly determined that an immediate rescue was needed. Firefighters deployed a ladder into the ditch, descended to the victim, secured him in a harness, and safely removed from danger.
