How do you know that the security investigation process carried out by the General Directorate of National Security in cooperation with various other security agencies is divided into two types: "preliminary investigation" and "in-depth investigation"? What do they mean, and what is the difference between them? Preliminary Investigation: The preliminary investigation is a procedure carried out by two agencies: the "RG" (the Wilaya, and we can include the intelligence services) and the "DST" (the intelligence services). If you pass this investigation, you are allowed to begin your training normally. What do they focus on in this investigation? They rely on information systems and check the good reputation of family members. They question local authorities (the Sheikh, the Muqaddam). They may come to your neighborhood to ask about you or come directly to your home. If you are married, they will ask about your wife. Your family and their surroundings will also be investigated, and the investigator may contact you and question you personally. Here, it's important to clarify that the investigation process is not conducted collectively but individually, meaning each candidate is investigated separately. Therefore, the investigation process may be longer for some and shorter for others, depending on factors such as the number of family members, which varies from candidate to candidate, and the pace at which the investigation committee works. In-depth Investigation: The in-depth investigation continues even after you've started your internship. It involves a detailed investigation, meaning they question each family member individually and may contact some family members for questioning. If they suspect a family member of belonging to a certain group or engaging in suspicious activities, they place them under surveillance and conduct a thorough investigation. In short, the in-depth investigation is more thorough than the preliminary investigation, and the investigator and relevant authorities are required to submit a detailed report on the candidate and their family members. If the in-depth investigation is negative, the candidate may be investigated even if they have already begun their internship. The internship is almost over, and unfortunately, the trainee is being dismissed. May God never put anyone in this situation. One of the downsides of the internship is that even though you're in the internship, you'll be under constant pressure. You'll always have that feeling of being threatened, even if things are going well. The moment you hear your name from the administration, half of you will collapse, and you'll think, "That's it, I'm done for."
