Grab your seatbelts because today we are conquering Highway 14A, notoriously known for its intense, steep, and winding descents down the majestic BigHorn Mountains in Wyoming! Despite fighting off a couple of stubborn summer colds, we were well-rested and ready for an unforgettable mountain road trip. In this episode: Spotting Our First Moose: Just minutes into the drive, we get lucky and spot a moose on the side of the road—setting a great tone for the day's wildlife adventures [00:46]. The Spectacular BigHorn Basin Lookout: We pull over at the top peak elevation to take in the mind-blowing, raw, and vast panoramic views of the BigHorn Basin stretching out beneath us [02:51]. Conquering the Intense 14A Switchbacks: Experience the crazy steep, twisting turns as we navigate the truck safely down the massive mountain face. Looking back up at the road we just conquered is absolutely nuts [10:08]! An Abandoned "Horror Movie" Detour: Trying to find a shortcut, we ignore a sign warning us about "active explosives" only to have Google Maps lead us down a sketchy dirt path filled with abandoned campers and trailers. It felt straight out of a horror film, forcing a swift U-turn [11:48]! The Rich History of Greybull, WY: We drive through Greybull, a historic 1906 rail town sitting in the heart of one of North America's richest dinosaur fossil and track regions [16:33]. Discovering Devil’s Kitchen: We turn off the pavement to explore the colorful, uniquely weathered badlands of Devil's Kitchen—a stunning landscape that looks like it belongs on another planet [18:27]. A Moose Finale at Camp: Just as we arrive back near our campsite, Lance spots a family of three moose hiding out in a spot we've never seen them before [22:45]. A Wild Weather Wake-Up: After collapsing into bed completely exhausted, we wake up the next morning to an active hail storm pounding the camper [23:34].
