WB20K10015 - Replacing Your GE Gas Range's Thermostat- AP3792591, AH953423, PS953423

It may need to be replaced if you notice that is is not holding temperature in your oven correctly. Mike from Point & Click Appliance Repair will take you step-by-step through replacing your thermostat. (Part number WB20K10015) on a GE range (Model number JB650SF4SS). *WARNING: Before starting any repair, always make sure that the appliance is completely disconnected from the power source by unplugging it. This tutorial is meant to be a guide and should not be used in place of the installation instructions provided by the manufacturer. Tools Needed: -Needlenose Pliers -Quarter Inch Nutdriver Step-by-step how-to instructions on replacing your thermostat. (Part number WB20K10015) on a GE range (Model number JB650SF4SS). 1.) Unplug your range from its power source. 2.) Remove the door from the range by first opening the door. 3.) Lock both the hinges that are attaching the door to the range. 4.) Using your needlenose pliers, lift up on the lock until the lock is snapped in on both sides. 5.) Once both hinges are locked, pull up and then pull the door out. 6.) Once the door is removed, remove both the oven racks located in the inside of the oven. 7.) Locate your thermostat on the back side of the range and using your quarter inch nutdriver, remove the screws holding the thermostat to the inside of the range. 8.) Once both the screws are removed, turn the range around and gain access to the thermostat through the back. 9.) Remove the lower panel from the back side of the range. 10.) Simply disconnect the wire the thermostat is connected to by pushing down on the little tab and pulling out. 11.) Using your fingers, push the thermostat through a little bit that way when we take the thermostat out we won't pull on the chord and loosen the ending. 12.) Go back to the front of the range and simply pull the wire through and take out the old thermostat. 13.) Grab your new OEM replacement thermostat. 14.) Push the chord of the new thermostat through the opening and line up the screw holes and screw the thermostat back into place using your nutdriver. 15.) Turn the range around and remove the small panel to gain access to the chord we previously pushed through from the front. 16.) Using our hands, feed the chord through the hole and snap the thermostat back into the range. 17.) Replace the small panel we just unscrewed. 18.) Put on the back range panel that we removed earlier in the repair making sure you feed the power chord through before screwing in the last screw on the left. 19.) Replace your oven racks by sliding them back in. 20.) Place the door back on range by placing each hinge back into the range. 21.) Hold the door in place and using our needlenose pliers, push down on each lock. 22.) Once the hinge locks are loosened, push up on the door and close it. 23.) Plug your range back into its power source. This part may also work with other GE manufactured brands including Hotpoint and Kenmore.
