A Beautiful Detour and a Place to Sleep | Shikoku Day 21

Day 21 of the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage begins with an early wake-up, rice fields, quiet roads, jungle paths, and a lighter mood on the road. After taking a detour, the walk opens into beautiful scenery, making the extra path feel completely worth it. The day continues through old tunnels, narrow paths, foggy roads, train lines, small towns, and more peaceful rice field views. By the end of the day, the journey becomes uncertain again. He arrives at the place he hopes to stay, but there are no workers there. Other pilgrims have already left their things, so he has to wait for them to return and ask if he can also sleep there. In the end, they agree, and Day 21 finishes with relief, gratitude, and another quiet reminder that the pilgrimage often depends on patience, kindness, and trust.
