It's astonishing that such a "mechanism" was even put into mass production. It's like converting a Proton rocket into a pleasure locomotive for a children's park or trying to turn a nuclear submarine into a washing machine. It's ironic, but there's no guarantee that the result will be a truly impressive locomotive or a unique washing machine. In this article, we examine the history of the amazing LuAZ-969 "Volyn" vehicle and try to understand whether it was an incredible success or a fatal mistake. The Lutsk Automobile Plant (LuAZ) is located in the city of Lutsk in western Ukraine, the capital of the Volyn Oblast. Despite being a relatively small city, its history is rich and eventful.
