Acer Palmatum Shirazz - Autumn 2021 (part 1 of 2)

16th October 2021 One of the Japanese Maples that was lifted out of the ground earlier in the year and potted up, this is Acer Palmatum Shirazz root pruned, root washed, rootball sprinkled with mircorhzial rooting powder and into a rough mix of 70/30% general compost and chipped bark in early spring this year. The tree was also pruned at the time reducing some length of branching and some thinning out also to help aid recovery by reducing the size of the tree a little. The reason why it was potted was in 5 years from an 18" inch tall tree grew to approc 4x4 feet and was too close to another Japanese Maple, plus it getting badly attacked by Horse Chestnut Scale Bugs which were slowly weakening the tree in the past few years.
