The Most Open Scam I’ve Ever Seen

While walking through the busy markets of Karachi, I came across a loud street auction selling electronics and watches at unbelievably low prices. Is it a scam? I found out! At first it looked like a normal bargain sale… until I stopped and watched. The same bidders kept appearing. Winners didn’t leave. And the moment I stopped participating, the atmosphere changed completely. These setups are known as scam auctions or fake auctions. They're fast-paced sales designed to create urgency and push buyers into bidding higher than they normally would. What feels like a cheap deal in the moment can end up costing far more than the item is actually worth. In this video I break down what I observed, how the pressure works, and why visitors should slow down when faced with deals that feel too good to be true. If you ever encounter an auction like this while traveling, take a step back and watch carefully before you participate.
