Down But Not Out Saku Koivu '02

Please rate, comment, and subscribe! Saku Koivu was the first European to captain the Montreal Canadiens. A month before the start of the 2001-02 season, it was discovered that the Finnish center had stomach cancer. He would miss the first 79 game of the season until game #80 against the Ottowa Senators where he received an 8 minute standing ovation. The Canadiens won and squeaked into the final playoff spot in the eastern conference. They went onto upset the heavily favored Bruins on the backs of goaltender Jose Theodor and Koivu who was a point per game in the series.
