Sketchbook Session #2 | Drawing an Expressive Elephant
In this video, I spend a quiet afternoon drawing an expressive elephant with blue Col-Erase pencils while sharing some of my thoughts on sketchbooks, drawing from life, and creating characters with personality. Not every drawing has to become a finished painting. For me, a sketchbook is a place to experiment, explore ideas, and simply enjoy the process of drawing. The observations I make while sketching animals from life eventually find their way into my illustrations and oil paintings, but it all begins with simple shapes, solid structure, and a blank page. If you enjoy traditional drawing, illustration, character design, or simply watching the creative process unfold, I hope you'll enjoy spending a few minutes drawing along with me.
