The Torture Den | JUST B DIVORCE

A while before my mother’s passing, I recorded this part of my challenging divorce story. I’ve struggled with how much to share given that it’s important to me to be transparent about issues and cautionary tales that can help others. I have also chosen to omit a significant amount of information and details due to their sensitivity in nature. I truly wasn’t aware of the effect that this subject would have on people which makes me realize how important this topic is. If I have means and power and was powerless, how must others feel? For context, this video encapsulates my state of mind one year into a ten year divorce. What ensued for the rest of that decade is incomprehensible. To say that it was torture and the worst experience of my life is an understatement. It affected my health, my confidence, my work, my trust, my faith and my choices. I thought I could never be happy again yet now I am… and you can be as well. Some of you question my decision to discuss this. When I chose this path in life, I chose to create meaning in mine, yours, and my daughter’s life … and to be a woman who stands up for herself and fights for what she deserves and doesn’t accept anything less. Women are at a crossroads and will no longer accept systematic abuse nor will we be silenced by others or by contracts.
