Review: Colin Davis' Hit and Miss LSO Box
Colin Davis made some splendid recordings with the LSO on its proprietary label, but the best of them are only fitfully represented here. The repertoire is certainly characteristic: Berlioz, Sibelius, and Tippett, plus Elgar, Vaughan-Williams and Walton. It's just that it should have been much better.
