Battersea Power Station - Lift 109 At Night. I've always had a fascination with Battersea Power Station. The fascination is partly from an interest in old and sometimes brutal architecture. But also I remember Battersea Power Station being on various album covers and also quirky films. In 1991 I bought The Orbs Adventures beyond The Ultraworld LP. This was an ambient electronic music album. It's music was based on a 'coming down' experience after a club night to relax and chill to. Obviously in the 90's this was a good thing to do. I always looked on the album cover and wanted to visit the power station as I was interested by its design. I said I'd visit one day in the near future but never did. Just over 30 years later I headed out to London to finally see this site of interest with the added bonus of riding the Lift 109. This video captures the day where I meet Leah after work and we head on over. Leah got the tickets in advance and we were given a time slot. It was an amazing experience and the lift itself was a great accomplishment of engineering. If you plan to dine there we would advise to book in advance as we couldn't get in any restaurant at all. Maybe this is down to the Christmas rush but we found that to be frustrating. But to recap this was a brilliant night out and something a little different. #lift109 #batterseapowerstation
