Canadian Pacific 2816 Steam Train - The Final Spike Tour

Canadian Pacific 2816 is a historic steam locomotive that was built in 1930 for high speed passenger and freight service. In April of 2023, Canadian Pacific Railway and Kansas City Southern merged to form CPKC Rail. To celebrate this historic merger, the new company operated the 2816 on a multi month excursion from Calgary, Alberta to Mexico City and return. In this video, we will follow the train over a portion of its trip, dubbed the Final Spike Tour. We'll begin in Portal, North Dakota and continue all the way through Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
