Rabbi B - Saying I'm Sorry (A Yom Kippur Lesson)
Rabbi B is back again, this time teaching a valuable lesson about saying, "SORRY". Dov Dov the Bear has done something wrong and has hurt Dvorah the Bee's feelings. Rabbi B helps Dvora and Dov Dov make amends and remain friends. TIPS FOR EDUCATORS: Saying sorry is important for young children to learn because it teaches empathy and sympathy. Being able to acknowledge and understand someone else feelings is key to developing a solid theory of mind. Teaching young children about the concept of TESHUVA or saying sorry can be tricky, one analogy you can use is the idea of fixing mistakes, like tidying up a mess. Using this example, the mess would be the misdeed and tidying up would be the fixing of the misdeed. Saying sorry helps to clean up someones feelings. Song: I'm Sorry Written by: Unknown Lyrics: I'm sorry I did the thing that I did, To make you sad, I'm sorry I said the thing that I said, To make you mad, When I saw you cry, I could not believe my eyes, and so I say 'Sorry', I apologize.
