The Ahi Şerafeddin Mosque, or Arslanhane Mosque as it is commonly known, is a 13th-century mosque located at the southern end of Ankara Castle in the Altındağ district of Ankara. It is one of the Anatolian Seljuk-era mosques with wooden columns and a wooden ceiling. It is considered one of the oldest and most important structures in the city. As of 2023, it is on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List. It is known as the "Arslanhane" due to the lion statue on the exterior wall of the Ahi Şerafeddin Tomb, located northeast of the mosque. #explore #history #travel #ankara #ankaracastle #history #placestosee #highlightme #agenda #republic
