June 27/25 Tornado/Severe Warned Storms - Russell, Silverton & Angusville MB Canada

June 27, 2025 Tornado/Severe Warned Storms between Russell, Silverton & Angusville MB Canada My initial target on this day was in the region of Rocanville SK. The chase started just to the South East of Russell MB as the cell near Inglis (just to my North) became Tornado Warned. I went East, core-punched the storm and dropped South at Angisville to get to the South side of the system. Got some cool structure and had a fair bit of rotation! Seeing the clouds bend "upward" was different and pretty cool! Around 6:15 pm (7:15 MB), I could see the storm forming near Marchwell SK as it was moving East towards me, and visually was beginning to look pretty nice! By 6:30 (7:30 MB), I was near Silverton looking West in front of that storm system, which was "trying" to form Mothership Supercell storm structure! It wasn't super strong and began to weaken after a bit. As I sat there, the storm to my West began to merge with the storm to my East. I was near a farmyard, by some grain bins, and it sure made for a very "Prairie Themed" photo! As the storm began to merge, and the colors exploded, a big hailcore became visible and heading right towards me. As it approached, I caught (for me) some of the coolest Hail Footage I have ever taken. Where I was sitting, it was bone dry but looking just down the road to my East I can hear and see the hail falling! It looked soo cool! I can see every single little ball flying straight down. Got some very footage of that moment! The hailcore dropped toonie to ping pong ball sized hail. From there, the storms began to die out so I made my way back home. On my journey back, I caught up to a little storm cell near Saltcoats SK while the sunset was happening, and what a super pretty and stellar stormy sunset it became! What a fun chase day!
