I stayed at Ryusenkaku, a lodging directly connected to Hiraoka Station in Tenryu Village, Nagano Prefecture. Hiraoka Station on the JR Iida Line used to have station staff, but it has been an unmanned station since 2012. The station building where the ticket gate used to be now houses "Fureai Station Ryusenkaku," where you can bathe, eat, and stay overnight. Also, I happened to find the old Iida Line tracks during my sightseeing. It was a quiet solo trip spent at a "station inn" in a mountain village. [Subtitles are available for this video.
