30 Jaar Dutch Dance #1: Pionieren

The first episode of the 30 Years of Dutch Dance covers the pioneering years: from the introduction of house music to the clubcircuit to the first illegal raves in abandoned warehouses and tunnels, from the influence of the new partydrug XTC to the first major hits of the genre. Featuring Eddy de Clercq, Paul Elstak, DJ Marcello, Joost van Bellen, DJ Dimitri and Lady Aïda, amongst others. In the fall of 2018, it was exactly thirty years ago that a new and unprecedented genre began its ascent in the Netherlands. Back then, nobody would’ve imagined that Dutch Dance would one day grow into one of the most important export products of the country.
