AIDAprima - Orient ab Dubai 2 Teil 02 Dubai + Abu Dhabi 2024.01

Hello and welcome to the second part of our Orient cruise with Dubai 2 on the AIDAprima. Today we booked excursion DXB12, "Experience the Sunrise at 240m Height." According to the excursion description, it was supposed to start at 5:00 AM, but luckily the sun rose later, so the excursion didn't start until 6:15 AM. The drive to "The View on the Palm" only took 15 minutes. The view from up there of Palm Jumeirah is quite impressive. You just have to be careful not to miss the sunrise, as it happens pretty quickly up there. Afterwards, we went to the Pointe viewpoint, which offers a good view of the Atlantis, The Palm hotel. Then we went to Blue Island to see the Ferris wheel. Unfortunately, it's no longer in operation. There are several stories about why, but I don't know which one is true. Once we were back on the ship, we went for breakfast. After that, we made ourselves comfortable on the deck chairs on Deck 16. At 1:00 PM, we set sail for Abu Dhabi, and we watched the ship depart from our deck chairs. For Abu Dhabi, I had booked excursion ABU33, "Transfer to the Grand Mosque." It departed at 8:30 PM, since we hadn't docked in Abu Dhabi until 8:00 PM. The drive takes about 40 minutes. The walk inside the mosque takes another 30 minutes, including security checks. Since the ship closes at 10:00 PM, the visit was quite fast-paced, but okay, as there weren't many people in the mosque. The mosque is truly impressive. By the way, you need a time slot for entry, which you can book for free on the mosque's website. I had done that, but to our surprise, we received QR codes for entry on the bus. The guide even escorted us through the security checkpoints—what service! Please be sure to follow the dress code, which is also available on the website. To the photographers among you: A maximum focal length of 300mm is permitted, and tripods are not allowed. Otherwise, your camera will be confiscated at security, and you can pick it up again at the exit. The trip was sporty but perfectly fine.
