Chine : la panne ? - Une leçon de géopolitique | ARTE

As a certain discontent seems to be setting in among the Chinese population, Émilie Aubry welcomes Philippe Le Corre, professor of geopolitics at ESSEC Business School, to discuss the matter. China appears to have not yet recovered from President Xi Jinping's "zero COVID strategy." While economic growth is still around 4%, the outlook is poor. While Beijing seems to have finally realized the extent of the discontent, strong measures are still pending. Added to this is the fact that China has also been the scene of several deadly attacks by isolated individuals—which Xi Jinping's regime has been quick to remove from social media. The particularly unstable international context is also shaking up China's development model, and Donald Trump's re-election to the White House is not helping matters. "No one will win a trade war," Beijing reacted after Donald Trump announced a future increase in customs duties. 📩 The Dessous des Cartes newsletter 👉 https://inscription-newsletter-ddc.ar... 📕 Order the new atlas "Le Dessous des Cartes - La puissance et la mer" by Émilie Aubry and Frank Tétart, Tallandier and Arte Editions https://bit.ly/Atlas_DDC 👉 Subscribe to our channel! http://bit.ly/DDC_YouTube 👉 Also find Le Dessous des Cartes on Facebook.   / ledessousdes.  . 💻 Find all of Émilie Aubry's shows on VOD: http://bit.ly/DDC_VOD. 👉 All of Jean-Christophe Victor's shows (VOD and DVD) in the ARTE store. http://bit.ly/DDC_Boutique
