Chickens are often called "omnivores," but in reality, they're often little gourmets! While some will drop everything for a juicy apple, others prefer fresh greens, and still others turn their noses up at any fresh food, which can drive novice chicken keepers to despair. In this video, I'll first show you what our flock is currently enjoying in February. During the winter, I focus on combining vitamins, minerals, and enrichment. My winter favorites in the coop: Cabbage vegetables: Whether it's kale, red cabbage, or savoy cabbage – cabbage is the perfect energy source and provides plenty of enrichment when hung up. Its calcium bioavailability is also excellent. Apples: The classic! Finely grated or as whole "pickballs," they're a vitamin powerhouse on gray days, and you can easily grow and store them yourself (winter apples/storage apples). 💬 Now it's YOUR turn!
