However, in discussions with relatives and lawyers and by studying the files, the research team determined: There is no evidence that the child had even entered the forest. Other investigative approaches raise further questions: For example, a private dog handler claims to have followed Inga's trail for 800 kilometers from Stendal to Austria, months after her disappearance. A trail that led to a dead end – but raised high hopes in the family, which were deeply dashed.
