3 x Parallel RIG. SONULAB STOMPSTATION, STOMPSTATION PRO, BOSS KAT AIR EX & Pirate MIDI - NAM A2

#nam #piratemidi #sonulab #stompstationpro #guitarpedals #boss #katanaairex So this is some B Roll test footage trialling out the new NAM A2 capable Sonulab Stompstations. I’m looking at really mixing things up here by networking the wee little StompStation from 2025 and the newer big boy StompStation Pro with parallel paths and MIDI Control. The deal here is to take 3 signal chains of more or less 8-10 blocks and run em side by side so that the signals sit on top of each other and can each do radically different things. They all get recombined in two stages. This is currently set to work as a desktop rig, the two stompstations ? I split the signal out of my wireless receiver using a Keeley RK2000 delay pedal. StompStation 1 runs to the Pro’s input 2 in mono, that line is passing directly thru the pro with zero interruption. You can adjust volume and mix level right on the desk or via midi. One A2 slimmed down to Sonulab’s proprietary format and various fx ( mostly dry sounds ) StompStation 2 (pro) runs a second feed off the keeley delay and hits 2 full A2 blocks and the usual Sonulab fx . (Wet dry mix) I’m taking these two mixed over the headphones TRS out to the aux in . Finally the BOSS katana air ex is grabbing the guitar wireless direct and that’s running the heavier wet fx ( slow gear, dual chorus, dual delay, reverb - gives a cello sound effect ) This experiment was the first time combining all 3 paths - normally I just run 3. On the MIDI side I have the Sonulab run with sequential pc messages for now. The little pirate midi bridge 4 has two switches programmed with 2 pc messages each, I’m swapping combinations around and testing the use of led colours The StompStation here is more basic and only displays 2 different presets in its toggle mode but you can flick around through up to 50 presets and assign each one its own colours. The Pro gives you way more functions for pc meaaages, you can custom colour all the presets for example. The midi stack runs to 16 messages per switch, so you could get a fair amount of combinations. Main thing that needed testing was midi latency over 4 devices. I will be refilming this with more stuff added such as expression pedals. Key stuff to take away is switching is instant here, and you get a fairly good level of visual feedback .
