THE GRAVE IS SCARY || BY USTADH ABDUL RASHID

Many of us fear Hell, but how often do we think about the grave? In this reminder, we reflect on why ʿUthmān ibn ʿAffān (RA) would break down in tears whenever he stood by a grave. When asked why he cried more at the grave than when Paradise or Hell was mentioned, his answer was profound: the grave is the first stage of the Hereafter. If a person is saved there, what follows is easier. If not, what follows is even more severe. The grave is not just a resting place, it is the beginning of our eternal journey. This reminder is a call to prepare before that day arrives through sincere repentance, righteous deeds, and returning to Allah. May Allah grant us a good ending, protect us from the punishment of the grave, and make our graves gardens from the gardens of Paradise.
