So Jesus Valdes, that's what we call him, represents the third generation of pianists in the family. The tall, strong Cuban, 46, who currently lives in Mexico, is the tallest of Chucho's five children. Despite having released five solo albums with two Latin Grammy nominations, Chuchito Valdes is a virtually unknown musician in Europe. Valdes and the accompanying rhythm section played with a blast like a Caribbean hurricane, capturing the full attention of the audience. Valdes showed all his pianistic versatility, but always with one constant: a very theatrical speed of execution.
