Prucha Spirit Presentation Walnut Banjo no 1064
https://gregboyd.com/product-category... SN: 1064. Highly figured walnut. Elaborate engraving. Elaborate inlays. New, un-played condition. This is like a time capsule. This banjo has no wear, no problems and no sign of prior ownership. Walnut, straight-grain neck. Prucha Spirit peghead with Abalone JPrucha logo, and elaborate flourish in center of ebony overlay in peghead. Truss rod cover is multi-layer plastic with Spirit engraved. Radiused Gabon ebony fingerboard with delicate, elaborate Abalone inlays. Ivoroid bindings along fingerboard and around top and back edge of resonator. Below the bindings is a colorful wooden marquetry strip of purfling seen along sides of neck, and sides of resonator. Top and back edge of resonator show multiple Ivoroid bindings with extra black line. Very beautiful, highly-figured “crotch” walnut solid “Massif” resonator. Prucha’s “Massif” resonator is made using two book-matched blocks of wood that are turned on a lathe, and then hand-scraped and voiced. The figure is hard to describe, best to check out the photos. Ebony heelcap. Special hardware that is elaborately hand-engraved with mixed black-nickel and gold plating. 4 main tuners are gold H&K, 5th string tuner is gold Schaller, all tuners have matching Ivoroid buttons. Engraving is seen almost everywhere on the hardware, and is especially nice to see the continual “wreath” pattern all around the tone ring. As with all Pruchas, the banjo is made with a perfect fit of neck, perfect fit of resonator to pot, and perfect fit of neck heel into resonator. Banjo sounds great. Huge “bulk” when you play the 4th string.
