POS-KUPANG.COM - Commander of the Joint Regional Defense Command (Pangkogabwilhan) III, Lieutenant General Lucky Avianto, directly led a pursuit operation against the Free Papua Movement (OPM) group suspected of involvement in the murder of three indigenous Papuans in Yahukimo Regency, Papua Highlands. The operation involved two Indonesian Air Force combat helicopters deployed to search several locations in the densely forested mountainous area suspected of being the armed group's escape route. Lieutenant General Lucky led the operation along with the Chief of Staff of Kogabwilhan III, Air Vice Marshal Joko Sugeng Sriyanto, Intelligence Assistant Brigadier General Tanjung, and Operations Assistant Brigadier General Patar Sitorus. Lucky emphasized that the Indonesian National Armed Forces Task Force under Kogabwilhan III will continue to pursue the perpetrators until all parties responsible for the murder of civilians are prosecuted according to the law.
