helsington snuff mill

A digital version of an old VHS made of the snuff mill when it was still operational. After the mill closed, all the machinery was taken for storage at the yard of a local business man who had agreed as part of the planning conditions to restore and display it but it was "accidentally" scrapped by contractors working for him. And the council and heritage societies never followed up to check that planning conditions and agreements were being adhered to it was all lost. In the video is Alan, the Miller's mate.
