"Born in Gateshead, made by the #NationalLottery. Gateshead boxer Calum French is showcasing his hometown in a new National Lottery initiative which highlights good cause investment at a local level. The Birtley fighter is one of six National Lottery funded athletes taking part in the My Hometown campaign. The series explores how the upbringing of each star inspired their sporting success and how support from the National Lottery has helped them and others in their local community. " If you’ve ever wondered where the money raised from selling National Lottery tickets goes, then National Lottery Good Causes has the answer. Since 1994, National Lottery players have raised a staggering £39 billion for Good Causes across the UK (that’s £30 million a week), and here on our YouTube page you can read about and see photos and videos of just some of the projects, groups and individuals who’ve benefited from National Lottery funding.
