🌧️ Drunk Karaoke at Viva – Burden in My Hand (Soundgarden) (anxiety edition)

June is Men's Mental Health awareness Month. I don't hide from the fact that I do karaoke to address anxiety. I put myself in a very vulnerable and challenging position. And I don't know if it's the fact that I take my love of music very seriously, or maybe it's a Neurodivergence thing--- but I'm extraordinarily hard on myself when I don't do justice to songs--- especially songs I love or bands/artists I admire. So when I challenge myself to sing songs by far better singers than I am- I get in my head. Chris Cornell is one of those artists. I figured I was due to try one I knew would defeat me. But you can see in the video how my posture and my comfort immediately vanishes. I start pacing back and forth and impulsively tugging on my shirt. My performance anxiety flew through the roof. I am still unhappy with this video, but again--- it wouldn't be exposure therapy if I just hid every time I didn't do a great job. I tried and failed with Helena - MCR. I utterly failed to the point where I refused to upload it. I was disappointed in myself. So I don't feel like I should do that again so soon. Make no mistake, don't be "gentle" because this makes me anxious. Comment how you would on any video.
